Here’s a 5 star rating for KBS. We had an upper and lower 4 foot high by 60 feet long wooden retaining wall in our backyard. The wood was rotting and the walls were collapsing when we called on Troy. Discussion ultimately resulted in building one 8 foot high wall using modular stacking stone which then gave us a level backyard with a lawn. Troy suggested the engineering company for the required drawings and they were very reasonable to work with. Our back yard was bordering on a city park so all access was from the street. All materials being excavated and new material coming in had be loaded or unloaded on the street. The side yard was barely wide enough for the skid-steer machine to travel back and forth without touching our house or the neighbours fence. This guy knows his machine. The work was done safely and efficiently. Several neighbours commented on the street clean-up at the end of each day – no materials were left on the street overnight. Troy and Cody put in some hot days moving blocks (70 lbs each) and fill material by hand when the machine couldn’t access an area due to safety concerns. They did a beautiful job of curving the walls into the staircase and adding a small flower bed at half height on one side of the stairs. They also supplied and installed the protective railing along the top of the wall as well as the new grass (sod). Troy was easy to work with and went the extra mile in order to resolve anything that was unexpected. We had a few changes from the original plan which added cost and his pricing was very reasonable. Troy would be our first choice if we decided to do any additional projects. Doug & Marie

I hired KBS to do some minor repairs to my aging wood retaining wall. He didn’t shy away from the small job. Communication was great from the start. Troy was quick to respond to my estimate request and came by quickly to view the job. He explained what would be done while viewing the job site and answered any questions I had. I particularly appreciated Troy’s commitment to easy communication over text we always knew when they were coming (weather was quite variable with rain during our job) and what they would be doing. After contacting several companies to remove my old wall and replace it, along with removing and installing a new fence and gates I went with Troy at KBS. He was honest and I felt very trustworthy. He submitted an estimate comparable to other companies It was a huge job that took a month to complete. Troy’s services were excellent. He replaced the wall extending along the back of the property and along the side between two houses, replaced the fence surrounding my property as well as installing a lower fence along the wall at the front of the property. A portion of the back and front lawn had to be re-sodded and that was done. The clean up was done in a timely manner. This job was completed in the specified timeline and when I had a couple of glitches with the lawn he was quick to come back and repair the issues. Kota Bobcat Services re-sodded the lawn on our corner lot and replaced our fence. Troy, and his team, were very professional and precise in their work. We get a lot of compliments on our fence which looks absolutely perfect. The lawn is beautiful too. Troy came up with a creative solution to address our sump pump outfall issue. He is a perfectionist who delivers excellent customer service at reasonable prices.

We hired KBS to strip and haul away the sod, shrubs and hedge from a section of our front yard, then spread new loam and re-sod. Troy did a great job quickly and efficiently and made sure all was cleaned up afterward. Frank V.
